My Review--Mystery and Romance in Act of Betrayal by Marsha R. West
Marsha West's third book in the Second Chances series is another entertaining addition to this series dealing with mature romances. I love the heroines in these books--strong and capable, and yet vulnerable. Act of Betrayal, the story about a family many of us can identify with, draws a reader in. Devon is a divorced working mom rearing her daughter, fighting with her ex, and luckily having her mother and father in her life. I liked the interaction between the generations in this story. Accepting the premise that her bookkeeper messed up and didn't notice a huge amount of money missing from her company, the story moves forward with twists and turns I really enjoyed. Readers will enjoy this story too with the aspects of mystery and romance.

Thanks so much for participating in this guest author event, Marsha! Always love hosting you on the Focused on Story blog.
Hey, JQ. Thanks for having me. I'll be speaking at the Woman's Club this morning, but will check back afterwards. And, of course, I'll share. :)
I loved the interactions between the generations in this story, too, JQ, especially the relationship between the heroine and her daughter. I love the Texan setting and always learn something from Marsha's books.
Hi Marsha, Hope your morning with the Woman's Club went well. What was your topic?
Helena, some day we are both going to have to get to Texas. It's one of the few states we haven't visited. Thanks for stopping in.
Hey, Helena, and JQ. I'm glad you like the inter- generational thing I have in this book and in most of my books. I think it would be hard for me to write a book without family playing a big part.
I vote for you both coming to Texas, would love to show you around and host you at our lake cabin. We could even put up your spouses if you're okay with bunk beds and a sleeper sofa. I've slept well on one of the bunks and one daughter & SIL spoke well of the sleeper sofa. Let's make this happen.
I had the best time at the Woman's Club meeting. If I get pics, I'll talk about it on my blog tomorrow. :)
I have read all of Marsha's books. She's a wonderful author. I especially enjoy the mystery aspects of her books.
Hi Susan, I agree. Marsha keeps the reader guessing. Thanks for stopping in!
Hey, Susan. Thanks for your kind comments. I enjoy your books, too. Thanks for stopping by.
