Happy October 2015!
Revealing the sparkling book cover for my new mystery, Deadly Undertaking,
is a fantastic way to kick off the new month!
I want to thank so many folks who have traveled (pushed me?) along this path to publishing my third mystery. I value the input from my critique partners, W.S. Gager, Tess Grant, Joselyn Vaughn, Dennis Caplis, Nancy Ross Flanagan, Sally Kent.
My beta readers, Sandra Rossier, Tess Grant, and Roseanne Dow, offered valuable input. Gail Roughton took care of the formatting of the manuscript.
Thanks to Michelle Lee for a super book cover and to Jude Pittman for formatting and publishing this mystery/romance/paranormal.
Last, and definitely not least, I want to thank my funeral director brothers, Jim and John, and my sister-in-law, Sandy, for advice on the funeral directing side of the book. Our dad was a funeral director, but I knew the business only from my childhood years, so I appreciated their help to update my knowledge. Of course, any errors I made, were entirely my fault as I took liberty to stretch a few practices to fit the story. Hey, it's fiction!

Back of the Book: Deadly Undertaking by J.Q. Rose
Lauren Staab knew there would be dead
bodies around when she returned home. After all, her family is in the funeral
business, Staab and Blood Funeral Home. Still, finding an extra body on the
floor of the garage between the hearse and the flower car shocked her.
Lauren’s
plan to return to her hometown to help care for her mother and keep the books
for the funeral home suddenly turns upside down in a struggle to prove she and
her family are not guilty of murdering the man. But
will the real killer return for her, her dad, her brother? Her
mother’s secrets, a killer, a handsome policeman, and a shadow man muddle up
her intention to have a simple life. Welcome home, Lauren!
